Ronnie Tan is one of the founding Directors of Central Chambers entering into his third
decade of practice. He is the Managing Director and his area of work centers mainly on
litigation and advisory work as follows:
- Government Projects Advisory (legal)
- Corporate and commercial litigation
- Employment matters
- Matters connected with sports
- Construction disputes
- Criminal litigation
- Civil and criminal defamation
- Defamation
- Management Corporation matters
Ronnie began his practice as a litigator and had over the years, migrated into areas of
corporate and commercial advice. He is now involved in negotiation of agreements and of
drafting commercial agreements and related corporate arrangements for both the Public and
Private Sectors. His background in litigation gives him an advantage in negotiating and
drafting contracts.
The growing area of the law connected with sports is one of the areas that Ronnie is involved
in. He advised and acted for a major Statutory Board involved in sports promotion for many
years. He was involved in advising on legal aspects of the Sports Hub project a major
government and private sector partnership initiative ("PPP") shaping the landscape of
Singapore sports. He now advises organisations on the Personal Data Protection regime.
Ronnie was part of the Central Chambers team that undertook for legal book publishers,
Sweet & Maxwell, a work entitled "Commercial Transactions in Singapore: The Law and Model Documents".
